Welcome to Overdale in the village of Burtersett,
right in the middle of the Yorkshire Dales National Park

Overdale is an idyllic 3 bedroomed dales cottage set in Burtersett, a picturesque, quiet village near Hawes in Upper Wensleydale. It nestles on the edge of the village and has spectacular views over Upper Wensleydale. Burtersett now has a healthy population of red squirrels.

About the Owners

We purchased Overdale 12 years ago. Now retired from our jobs in local authority social work and policy planning, we use the cottage (with our dog Floss) several times a year. Walking and bird watching are joint interests. Steve also cycles and I love catching up with local friends. Letting Overdale when we are not using it helps raise money to help pay for its upkeep and improvements. It is in an idyllic position - less than a mile from Hawes yet surround by fields - so we are also keen for others to enjoy it and this also helps to boost the local economy.
